MICHIGAN SHERIFF MOUNTED ASSOCIATION

Spring Pistol Shoot. 

 

This is held the first Saturday after Easter.  The shoot consists of a bulls-eye and combat competition. Any member of he M.S.M.A who are qualified through their department or have taken the M.S.M.A Pistol Safety class can participate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is held the second weekend in June.  The Pony Express consists of a stress/trail class held on Friday evening.  On Saturday a mail carry, parade and speed show.  Sunday the meeting is held in the morning.  Members of the M.S.M.A use Pony Express letters to raise money for a recipient.  People write letters to whom ever, return letters along with a donation to members.  Letters are then carried, via horseback and handed off from rider to rider.  Letters are then stamped that they were officially carried by Pony Express and mailed via regular mail.

Fall Camp Out.

This is rotated from the 1st to the 2nd and then the 3rd weekend after Labor Day.  The fall camp out consists of a stress/trail class held on Friday evening.  Saturday starts with a trail ride, followed by speed show and a Saturday evening meeting.  On Sunday the fall shoot is held which consists of a bulls-eye and combat competition.
